Foreign Affairs Adviser holds talks with Uzbek FM

Foreign Affairs Adviser Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain held a bilateral meeting on Friday (26 September 2025) with Mr. Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the 80th UNGA High-Level Week.

A major highlight of the meeting was the signing of the Agreement on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic Passports between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.

The two Ministers also discussed strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, higher education, and connectivity, including opportunities for Bangladeshi students in universities in Uzbekistan and the export of semi-skilled and skilled human resources from Bangladesh to Uzbekistan. They also exchanged views on collaboration in multilateral fora. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, underscoring the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.
