FBCCI has coordinated meetings with law enforcement forces to strengthen trade and industrial security.

FBCCI has sought the cooperation of the Law enforcement forces to strengthen the security of industrial factories and business establishments In the ongoing situation in the country.

Mr. Mahbubul Alam, President of FBCCI, made this call at the coordination meeting on business and industrial safety issues at FBCCI’s Gulshan office on Tuesday (August 13, 2024). General Officer Commanding (GOC) and Area Commander (Savar) Major General Md. Moin Khan and business leaders of various chambers and associations were present in the meeting.

FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam said that if the law and order situation is improved in the current situation, confidence will return among businessmen and investors. The business community is hopeful that the economy will regain its momentum if the security of businesses and industries is ensured and the steps taken by the army for this purpose. The FBCCI president assured the GOC that they will work in coordination with the law enforcement agencies.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) and Area Commander (Savar) of the 9th Infantry Division, Major General Md. Moin Khan, said that the economy will suffer if business and industrial establishments are not provided with security. For this, the main duty of the interim government is to provide security to business and industry with all its might. Therefore, he urged the Bangladesh Army to provide information about any businessmen or industrial establishments threatened with attacks including extortion. Besides, he said that the army is working seriously to reduce the container congestion and eliminate other irregularities at the port.

At this time, DIG of Industrial Police Md. Azad Mia said that most of the policemen have already joined the work to protect the industry. Soon the rest of the members will join the work. Moreover, the presence of workers in most of the factories is promising, he said.

Mr. Abdul Awal Mintu, former president of FBCCI, said that there will be no investment if there is social instability and insecurity in the country. For this, he first called upon the army to improve the law and order situation and assured the businessmen that they would cooperate in this work. He thanked the Bangladesh Army for participating in this meeting with the businessmen.

Former President of FBCCI Mir Nasir Hossain, Md. Jasim Uddin, Senior Vice President of FBCCI Md. Amin Helali, Vice President Md. Munir Hossain, Former Senior Vice President Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Dhaka Chamber, Metropolitan Chamber, BGMEA were present in the meeting. , leaders of various trade organizations including BKMEA, BTMA, Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, DIG of Dhaka Industrial Police, senior officials of Bangladesh Army.
