BNP National Executive Committee Microfinance Affairs Secretary, former founding president of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP and BNP’s nominated candidate for Dhaka-11 constituency Dr. M A Qayyum said that students must be committed to stopping drugs, terrorism and extortion in the education arena in the coming days.
He made this call at a reception organized at Mahanagar College on Wednesday (November 26, 2025).

This former founding president of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP said that in the past 17 years, the fascist Awami League had established a reign of disappearances, murder and terrorism in this country. There was no rule of law and human rights.
BNP nominated candidate for Dhaka-11 constituency Dr. M A Qayyum said that he spoke about allocating 5 kata lands to increase the facilities of educational institutions in the area, including Mahanagar College. He said that improving the quality of education is the biggest challenge today. The responsibility of education is yours, and it is our responsibility to solve all kinds of problems of educational institutions. He also announced the construction of a separate playground for the students.

Addressing the students of Mahanagar College, Dr. Qayyum said that the students and the young generation of the country were the first to respond to the recent anti-discrimination movement and took to the streets. The common people united with them and forced the dictator Sheikh Hasina to flee the country through a mass uprising.

Dr. Qayyum paid deep respect to the martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement and prayed for the forgiveness of their souls. He urged everyone to remain united to take a strong stand against injustice and oppression in the country in the coming days.
At the event, Principal of Mahanagar College Fazilatunnesa said that Dr. M. A. Qayyum established this college to enlighten the young generation in the heart of Badda. Under his visionary leadership, the institution has become a renowned educational institution today. He is working as a beacon of education in Dhaka-11 constituency, and numerous educational institutions have been established under his leadership.

President of the Governing Board, Advocate Belal, said that everyone will have to work together to improve the quality of education in the college. He highlighted the current facilities of the institution and expressed his hope to improve them further.
