Dr. Zubaida Rahman presents awards to young innovators

The Dhaka District Administration organized the ‘Startup, Science Project and Innovation Idea Showcasing’ competition to develop innovative thinking, scientific mind and entrepreneurial skills of young students. The Prime Minister’s wife and Vice President of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, presented awards and certificates to the district-level winners of the competition.

The awards were presented to the members of the winning teams at a ceremony organized at BAF Shaheen College in the capital on Sunday (June 14, 2026). The ceremony was organized by the Dhaka District Administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Public College won the first place in the competition, RAJUK Uttara Model College won the second place and Holy Cross High School won the third place. Each team had a total of five members, including three students and two teachers.

A total of 185 competitors participated in this district-level final competition. Students were encouraged to develop their creativity and technology-based thinking by showcasing their various innovative projects, science-based research and entrepreneurial ideas.

Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon MP and Education Ministry Advisor Mahdi Amin were present as special guests at the event. Also present were Dhaka-18 Member of Parliament, Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division Abdul Khalek, Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Division, Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Superintendent of Police of Dhaka District, senior officials of the district administration, teachers and students of various educational institutions and invited guests.
