Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat held a preparatory meeting to implement Jamaat’s general assembly

With the aim of socially motivating the people to resolve the concerns and anxieties created in the overall political situation of the state, a preparatory meeting of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat has been held at the initiative of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami to successfully implement the general assembly to be held on January 3 at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital.

The meeting, held at the conference hall of the Dhaka Metropolitan South office on Friday (December 26, 2025) night, was presided over by Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South Abdus Sabur Fakir. The meeting was moderated by Central Working Committee member and Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud.

Central Working Committee member and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Central Majlish-e-Shura Member and Assistant Secretary Mohammad Kamal Hossain, along with Metropolitan Executive Committee members Abdus Salam, Abdur Rahman, Kamrul Ahsan Hasan, Syed Sirajul Haque, Shahin Ahmed Khan and Maulana Shariful Islam. Metropolitan South Majlish-e-Shura Member, Thana Ameer and divisional responsible leaders were also present at the meeting.

The leaders said in the meeting that it is not possible to remove the concerns and anxiety created in the public’s mind in the current political situation of the state without the trial of the murder of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, recovery of illegal weapons and ensuring a level playing field at all levels. The implementation of these demands is essential to maintain the people’s trust in the government.

The leaders also said that if these demands are not met, it will not be possible to organize a free, fair, impartial and participatory credible election. Therefore, the three-point demands of the masses must be implemented through the spontaneous participation of the people, regardless of party affiliation, in the general assembly to be held on January 3 (Saturday).

It is to be noted that after the assembly, after a detailed discussion on the overall issues of the successful implementation of the general assembly, responsibilities were distributed among the responsible persons in light of the central directives.
