China expresses interest in investing in renewable energy and agriculture sectors in Bangladesh

The China-Bangladesh Enterprise Consultation Meeting was held on Monday (August 25, 2025) at the Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) office in Gulshan, the capital. The meeting was organized to welcome a 25-member high-level delegation from the People’s Government of Anhui Province and the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh.

The meeting mainly discussed the prospects of solar power, agriculture, electric vehicles, cold storage and garment sectors. These sectors were mentioned as being in line with the value-added economic priorities of the Bangladesh government.

The Chinese delegation was led by Sun Yong, Vice Governor of Anhui Provincial People’s Government. Wang Haixia, Vice Mayor of Hefei Municipal People’s Government, was present at the time.

Also present at the event were Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh Liu Yuyin, President of the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) Han Kun, Administrator of BCCCI Most. Nargis Murshida, members of the chamber and representatives of CEAB.
