China celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations with Bangladesh-China women’s football friendly match

On Saturday (September 20), the ‘Bangladesh-China Women’s Football Friendly Match 2025’ was held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in a grand manner to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China. The match was held in a festive atmosphere at the stadium decorated with colorful flags.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen was present as the chief guest at the event. In addition, Secretary of the Eastern and Western Divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas and Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Vice Chairman Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Abdul Awal Mintu, along with more than 4,000 representatives of various professions and football fans from China and Bangladesh were present.

In his speech, Ambassador Yao Wen said, “Today’s match is a festival, a symphony of sports and a stage of friendship for the youth of the two countries. I hope that in the future, more young people will devote their passion and dreams to China-Bangladesh friendship and make great achievements together.”

The Bangladeshi guests also highlighted the importance of exchanges and mutual cooperation between the youth of the two countries and expressed their hope to further accelerate these initiatives.

The joint women’s university football team, consisting of players from Yunnan Minzu University and Jiangsu Normal University in China, and the Bangladeshi youth women’s football team participated in the friendly match. The excellent performance of the two teams impressed the audience.
