On Tuesday (July 30, 2025), Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Yao Wen met with Honorable Nurjahan Begum, Health and Family Welfare Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh.
The meeting discussed various aspects of strengthening cooperation in the health sector between China and Bangladesh. Senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance were present.
Ambassador Yao Wen said that as a result of the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, effective cooperation has been implemented in many sectors, including emergency medical assistance, construction of hospital units, medical equipment assistance and technical exchanges. He added that these initiatives have brought new momentum to the progress of the China-Bangladesh ‘Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership’. He said that China will remain willing to work hand in hand with Bangladesh in the future.
Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum expressed her sincere gratitude for China’s long-term cooperation. She particularly mentioned the rapid dispatch of a Chinese medical team to treat the injured in a recent plane crash in Bangladesh.
The advisor expressed hope that cooperation in the health sector between China and Bangladesh will reach a higher level in the coming days.
