Chief Adviser visits Evercare to inquire about Khaleda Zia’s health

On Wednesday (December 3, 2025), after 7 pm, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus went to Evercare Hospital in the capital to inquire about the health of three-time former Prime Minister, former President’s wife and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Upon reaching the hospital, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Begum Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Professor Dr. A. J. M. Zahid Hossain, Professor Dr. Shahabuddin Talukder, Khaleda Zia’s younger son’s wife Syeda Sharmila Rahman and younger brother Shamim Eskander received the Chief Adviser.

The Chief Adviser stayed at the hospital for about half an hour. During this time, he urged Begum Zia’s family and party leaders and activists to be patient.

Her medical team briefed the Chief Adviser about Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition. They said that Begum Zia’s treatment is underway under the supervision and assistance of specialist doctors from Mount Sinai and Johns Hopkins in the United States, as well as the United Kingdom and China.

At the time, the Chief Advisor reiterated the government’s assurance of all kinds of cooperation.

At the same time, he called on the countrymen to pray and pray for Begum Khaleda Zia’s recovery.

National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman was present with the Chief Advisor during the hospital visit.
