Business Interactions and Sales Surge Around Three Expos at ICCB

Desk Report:

Multiple events centered on international trade, leather goods, and automobile sales are currently underway at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital. Significant interest has been observed among visitors and buyers regarding the ‘4th Made in Pakistan’ exhibition, the 10th International Leather and Footwear Exhibition, and the weekly ‘Super Sale Car Bazar.’ These events drew massive crowds during the weekend.

Today, Saturday (September 26, 2026), marks the final day of the five-day ‘4th Made in Pakistan’ exhibition held at ICCB’s Gulnaksha Hall. Over 100 companies from various sectors of Pakistan are participating in the event. A wide range of products—including ready-made garments, cosmetics, sports goods, jewelry, food and beverages, leather goods, and fragrances—are on display.

According to the organizers, a primary objective of the exhibition is to foster direct connections between Bangladeshi and Pakistani businesspeople and to establish new commercial partnerships. Stakeholders anticipate that interactions between Pakistani firms and local businesses could pave the way for new opportunities in import-export and investment. The exhibition was organized with the support of Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.

Meanwhile, the three-day 10th International Leather and Footwear Exhibition is taking place at ICCB’s Navaratri Hall; today is the final day for this event as well. In addition to Bangladesh, more than 250 companies from various countries—including China, India, Pakistan, the UK, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Taiwan—are participating.

The exhibition showcases a diverse array of products and technologies, including leather and leather goods, footwear, sportswear, modern shoe-manufacturing machinery, production materials, chemicals, and spare parts. The event was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Tanners Association, the Leather Engineers and Technologists Society, and Limra Exhibitions. The exhibition saw a significant turnout of buyers and visitors, especially on the holiday. A local company, ‘Deer Leather,’ participated with a range of products including leather bags, belts, shoes, and wallets. Farida Yasmin Bithi, the company’s CEO, noted the positive response from visitors on the holiday and expressed hope for an even greater turnout on the final day.

Meanwhile, the ‘Super Sale Car Bazaar’ is being held every Friday at ICCB. Organized jointly by Wizard Showbiz and ICCB, the market entered its fourth week yesterday. Over time, the scale of the event and the number of buyers and visitors have grown. Buyer interest is rising due to the opportunity to view new, reconditioned, and used cars in one location and negotiate prices directly.

Spanning an area of approximately 100,000 square feet, the car bazaar currently features over 300 vehicles. In the first week, there were around 127 cars; thus, the number of vehicles has more than tripled in four weeks. Organizers claim that the availability of diverse vehicles in one place gives buyers the experience of visiting nearly 50 showrooms simultaneously.

A special attraction of the car bazaar is the modern RV (Recreational Vehicle). These vehicles offer amenities such as temporary accommodation, sleeping quarters, and cooking facilities for use during travel. Visitors have shown keen interest in these recreational vehicles for family trips. Additionally, round-the-clock car check-up services provided by ‘Hyundai’ are available for the vehicles.

Mehedi Hasan Molla, Brand and Marketing Manager at ICCB, stated that there has been an overwhelming response from visitors and buyers since the morning. Several cars have already been sold, and the sale process for many others is currently underway.

Overall, these ongoing events at ICCB have created opportunities for commercial networking, product showcasing, and trading among the capital’s buyers, visitors, and businesspeople. The large crowds drawn to these three events—particularly on the holiday—have truly enlivened the ICCB venue.
