A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between BRAC University and the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC). As a result of this agreement, the two institutions will work together in education, research and knowledge exchange in the field of international relations.
The MoU signing ceremony was recently held at BRAC University’s Merul Badda Campus. The agreement has come into effect from 1 February 2026.
FICAC is an international network of consuls from different countries around the world. It serves as a platform to enhance communication and cooperation among its members. The organization helps in establishing connections in the fields of education, culture and institutional engagement. In addition, it creates opportunities for exchange of experiences among members, expansion of international contacts and collaboration with various institutions and organizations.
Under this agreement, the two institutions will work together to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation in the future. This includes visits by teachers or representatives, joint seminars, workshops, conferences and other academic events.
In addition, as a result of this agreement, BRAC University and FICAC will exchange information on education and research in the field of international relations studies. In addition, as a result, FICAC will help introduce BRAC University’s postgraduate programs in different countries. BRAC University will showcase FICAC’s initiatives and achievements to students and alumni. This agreement will also help develop scientific initiatives between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed on behalf of BRAC University by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Syed Farhat Anwar, Treasurer Ariful Islam and Registrar Dr. David Dowland.
The President of the organization, Honorable Nikolaos K. Margaropoulos, President Emeritus Honorable Aykut Eken and Vice-President Honorable Asif A. Chowdhury signed on behalf of FICAC. The event was also attended by Honorable Fatma Gonul Ore-Aken, Member of the Board of Directors and Honorary Consul of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Registrar Dr. David Dowland highlighted the academic programs, research activities and international engagements of BRAC University. Treasurer Ariful Islam highlighted the goals and objectives of the university. Vice-Chancellor Professor Farhat Anwar reiterated BRAC University’s commitment to strengthening leadership and cooperation with countries in the Global South.
After the event, Professor Anwar gave the FICAC delegation a tour of BRAC University’s new and environmentally friendly campus. The FICAC delegation praised the university’s new campus and learning environment.
