Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) jointly organized a seminar titled “The Power of Local: How Grassroots Communities Drive SDG Achievement in Bangladesh” at BIISS Auditorium in Dhaka on Thursday (September 4).
Norwegian Ambassador to Dhaka Håkon Arald Gulbrandsen is present as the chief guest at the seminar. BIISS Director General Major General Iftekhar Anis (BSP, AW, AFWC, PSC, PENG) delivered the inaugural address.
Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director, Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) is serving as the moderator for the seminar. The main discussion will feature Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam, Professor of the Department of Development Studies at Dhaka University, Iqbal Abdullah Harun, Secretary of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Planning, Dr. Mishal Kreja, Head of the Development Cooperation Department of the European Union, Md. Toufiq-ur Rahman, Director General of the Multilateral Economic Affairs Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Khushi Kabir, Secretary of the NIRKARI, as well as representatives of various organizations.
