A ‘Meet the Press’ event was organized by Sammilito Parishad on Thursday (May 15, 2025) on the occasion of the upcoming BGMEA (Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association) elections 2025-2027.
Sammilito Parishad President Kazi Moniruzzaman, Panel Leader Abul Kalam Azad, Former President and Chief Election Coordinator Faruk Hasan, and Former Director Shovon Islam were present at the event held at a hotel in Dhaka.

In their speeches, the leaders discussed the upcoming elections and future plans. They said that their main goal is to build BGMEA as a non-political, professional and modern trade organization. At this time, they promised to run the organization by prioritizing business interests.
The Sammilit Parishad said that a total of 35 director candidates have been elected in the upcoming elections, 26 in Dhaka and 9 in Chittagong. All these candidates are determined to make BGMEA a more dynamic and modern organization with a combination of business skills, experience and technology-based thinking.
The speakers also said that their top priority is to ensure that BGMEA can work for the real development of the garment industry, free from political influence.
