‘Sammilito Parishad’ has announced the name of Chaiti Garments Limited Managing Director Abul Kalam as their panel leader in the upcoming elections of BGMEA. The announcement was made at the “Sammilito Parishad” panel leader announcement ceremony on the occasion of the upcoming BGMEA elections at the Radisson Hotel in Dhaka on Thursday (November 28, 2024).

Abul Kalam is an entrepreneur with long experience in the garment industry. He is currently an active member of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) and served as Director of BGMEA during 2012-13. Besides, he also served as the President of Uttara Club during the period 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Zainul Abedin Farooq, former opposition chief whip and adviser to BNP chairperson, said that there should be no more discrimination in BGMEA. So that the Sammilito Parishad is victorious. Sammilito Parishad Panel Leader Abul Kalam has that qualification.

Former President of BGMEA Farooq Hasan said at the introduction ceremony of the panel leader of Sammilito Parishad, “The Sammilito Parishad has led the longest time in BGMEA. Our panel has many successes. I am hoping that in this election too, the Sammilito Parishad will win by voting in the full panel.
Abdullah Hill Rakib, former senior vice-president of BGMEA and Team Group MD, said, “We hope that the Sammilito Parishad will be re-elected as a full panel to resolve the problems of the garment sector.”

Bangladesh Textile Mills Association BTMA President Shaukat Aziz Russell said, ‘I have known Kalam Bhai for the past 25 years. He is a successful person in business and family. I am supporting kalam bhai from my association, hope you will also support him.




Former President of BGMEA SM Fazlul Haque, Redwan Ahmed, Rashid Group Chairman M Kapil Uddin Ahmed, Kazi Moniruzzaman, Mostafa Golam Quddus, Khandkar Rafiqul Islam also spoke on the occasion.

Sammilito Parishad President Kazi Moniruzzaman, former BNP Member of Parliament and State Minister and former president of BGMEA Redwan Ahmed, former president Mostafa Golam Quddus, former president SM Fazlul Haque, former president Khandkar Rafiqul Islam, owner of Stylish Garments Salauddin Chowdhury and others were present.
