BGMEA delegation visits factories to monitor permanent membership verification process

As part of the application submitted to BGMEA for permanent membership, an inspection team led by BGMEA Director Kazi Mizanur Rahman on Monday (November 10, 2025) visited two factories on-site — AZ Composite Limited and Bangladesh Army-run BMTF Apparels Limited.

During the inspection, the team reviewed the working environment, security measures, and implementation of safety standards in both the establishments. The working conditions of the factory workers, fire and emergency response plans, machinery protection, healthcare management, and other relevant aspects including labor hours-wage registration were observed.

BGMEA sources said that before granting permanent membership, the safety standards of each applicant establishment are verified and selected, so that a safe, fair, and sustainable working environment can be ensured in the export industry. The inspection team will analyze the operational aspects of the factory, including necessary records, safety equipment, and internal policies and regulations, and submit the results, which will later be considered for approval of permanent membership.
