Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has decided to appoint tag officers for every petrol pump in the country

Desk Report:

Tag officers will be appointed for all petrol pumps in the country. This decision was taken at an online meeting held on March 27 under the chairmanship of Mohammad Saiful Islam, Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department, with the aim of supervising and coordinating Bangladesh’s energy management activities in the ongoing global context.

Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) will appoint tag officers in Dhaka and Chittagong Metropolitan Areas. In districts and divisional cities except Dhaka and Chittagong Metropolitan Areas, the concerned Deputy Commissioners and Upazila Executive Officers at the Upazila level will appoint a government official as tag officer for every petrol pump under their jurisdiction.

In addition, as per the decision of the meeting, all the concerned departments/organizations have been requested to appoint a government official as tag officer for every petrol pump and send information to the Energy and Mineral Resources Department. The tag officers will work in the manner prescribed by the Energy and Mineral Resources Department/BPC and submit daily reports.
