Leading companies in the country’s light engineering sector will showcase their latest technologies, components and innovative products at this expo. Participants in this pavilion-based exhibition will present their products and services, which will serve as an important sourcing platform for local and international buyers, entrepreneurs and investors.
The opening ceremony of the expo will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 11 am. The event will be graced by high-ranking government officials as the chief guests, as well as representatives of FBCCI, various business chambers and associations, local and foreign guests, entrepreneurs, industrialists and representatives of the relevant sectors.
The welcome address will be delivered by Mr. Md. Abdur Razzak, President of Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association.
At a press conference organized on this occasion on Tuesday (May 27, 2025), Mr. Md. Abdur Razzak, President of Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (Baishimas), said, “The light engineering sector is a strategic and promising sector for Bangladesh. It is not only a backward linkage, but also makes an important contribution to the agriculture, power, textile, construction and household sectors.”
He further said that currently there are more than 50,000 small and large light engineering companies in Bangladesh, where more than three lakh people are directly employed and about three million people have been indirectly employed. This sector contributes about 3% to the country’s GDP.
The organizers hope that this year’s expo will be more vibrant, fruitful, and an important milestone in the development of the country’s light engineering sector through the active participation of policymakers, entrepreneurs, buyers, and investors.
