Diplomatic Desk:
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Shri Dinesh Trivedi, met with Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Abdul Awal Mintoo. The meeting held on Monday (September 7) discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and India on various environmental issues.
State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Sheikh Faridul Islam, was also present at the meeting.
The meeting discussed the progress of the existing bilateral cooperation mechanism between the two countries in the field of wildlife conservation and habitat protection. They also exchanged views on opportunities to make the ongoing cooperation in these areas more effective and extensive.
In addition, the possibility of further strengthening cooperation between Bangladesh and India in cross-border pollution control, waste management and other environmental issues of mutual interest was discussed.
