Bangladesh has made significant progress in sustainable and environmentally friendly garment industry: BGMEA Senior Vice President Enamul Khan

Intertek, a leading global provider of total quality assurance services, has set up a state-of-the-art hardlines product, toy and calibration laboratory in Gazipur. The new lab was officially inaugurated on Tuesday (December 9, 2025).

Senior Vice President Enamul Khan (Bablu) spoke on behalf of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at the inauguration ceremony. He said that Bangladesh has a strong reputation in the global market for producing and exporting quality garments. The country’s garment industry has made significant progress in ensuring safety in the workplace, environmentally friendly production systems and sustainable development.

He also said that he is optimistic that Bangladesh will be able to produce and export more diverse garments in the future while maintaining international standards. At the same time, he commented that the establishment of the new laboratory will play an important role in ensuring product quality control and international compliance.

At the event, the Senior Vice President of BGMEA thanked Intertek Bangladesh for establishing the new lab.
