Bangladesh Government Signs Agreement with UNOPS to Enhance Female Peacekeeper Training Capacity

The Government of Bangladesh and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) signed a project agreement on Thursday (March 20) to enhance the training capacity for female peacekeepers.

Funded by the Elsie Initiative Fund (EIF) and implemented in collaboration with the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) and the French Development Agency (AFD), this project aims to strengthen Bangladesh’s role in UN peacekeeping missions.

Under this project, a dedicated accommodation facility will be constructed at BIPSOT to provide a safe and modern environment for uniformed women undergoing pre-deployment training. This initiative reinforces Bangladesh’s commitment to gender inclusion and equity in UN peacekeeping operations.
