The media cooperation between Bangladesh and China is playing an important role in enhancing strategic mutual trust between the two countries and developing bilateral relations, said Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the “Golden Silk Road” Bangladesh Media Award ceremony held at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka on Wednesday (December 24, 2025).

Ambassador Yao Wen sincerely congratulated all the media workers who received the award and praised the positive role of Bangladesh-China media cooperation. He expressed hope that the media of both countries will further highlight China’s development, modernization experience and achievements. At the same time, he mentioned that the media will play an important role in bringing the stories of China-Bangladesh friendship to life.
Ambassador Yao said that these initiatives will create a lasting momentum in building a common future for mankind and enhancing mutual learning and understanding between the civilizations of Bangladesh and China.
The event was attended by special guests Yu Guangye, Director of the Bangladesh Language Department of China Media Group, Mahbub Morshed, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), and representatives of more than ten media organizations from China and Bangladesh.
Speaking at the event, Mahbub Morshed expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Embassy and China Media Group. He said that their cooperation in strengthening media exchanges and cooperation between Bangladesh and China is highly commendable. He expressed hope that the media of both countries will play a more effective role in the development of China-Bangladesh friendship in the future.
It is worth noting that the “Golden Silk Road” Bangladesh Media Award is a joint initiative of ten media organizations from China and Bangladesh. This year, a total of 29 reports from 19 media outlets from Bangladesh received this prestigious award.
