Md. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Professor Dr. Shiva Raj Adhikari, the Vice-Chairman of Nepal’s National Planning Commission, at his office on Wednesday (2 July 2025).
During the meeting, both sides held productive discussions on a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including the promotion of trade, investment, connectivity, and tourism. Ambassador Rahman emphasized the importance of enhancing People-to-People (P2P) and Business-to-Business (B2B) contacts to foster deeper understanding and collaboration between the two neighboring countries.

He also stressed the need to harness the potential of regional platforms such as BIMSTEC and SAARC to further consolidate the warm and historic relations between Bangladesh and Nepal.
The two dignitaries agreed to explore new avenues for cooperation, including joint programs and initiatives related to LDC graduation, SME development, and tourism promotion. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic engagement and exploring strategic partnerships that will benefit both countries in the long term.
The meeting reflected the shared vision of Bangladesh and Nepal to build stronger economic and developmental cooperation in the days ahead.
