Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Md. Shafiqur Rahman participated as the guest of honor in the 8th annual general meeting and conference of the ‘Medicine Importers Association of Nepal (MIAN)’ held in Kathmandu. The conference was organized at a local hotel on Saturday (21 June 2025).
The Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal was present as the chief guest and the Director General of the country’s Directorate of Drug Administration was present as the special guest. Diplomats, business representatives and dignitaries from various countries related to the health sector were also present at the conference.
The First Secretary (Commerce, Promotion and Culture) of the Bangladesh Embassy spoke at the event on the progress of the pharmaceutical industry in Bangladesh and the potential for exporting medicines to Nepal. He shed light on the quality, competitive price and expansion of the pharmaceutical industry in Bangladesh in the global market.
