Australian High Commission hosts high-level dialogue on business climate index

Australia will continue its support for improving the business climate in Bangladesh, the Australian High Commission in Dhaka said.

Policy Exchange Bangladesh and the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) jointly organized a high-level dialogue in collaboration with the Australian High Commission. Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman spoke at the dialogue.

The dialogue discussed the launch of a new phase of the ‘Bangladesh Business Climate Index (BBX)’—which was first launched in 2021.

The BBX will help investors and policymakers identify regulatory and operational barriers to doing business in Bangladesh. The dialogue discussed various aspects of improving the business climate and the potential for cooperation in microeconomic policy formulation.
