Australia Day was celebrated in Bangladesh, where Sharmin Murshid, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare, was present as the chief guest.

The event highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Australia and the commitment of both countries to a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive future of the Indo-Pacific region.

In her speech, Australian High Commissioner Susan Ryle highlighted various aspects of the growing bilateral relations between the two countries. She particularly discussed the depth and scope of Bangladesh-Australia relations in the areas of education, trade and maritime cooperation.

The event was lively and memorable, with distinguished diplomats, government officials, business representatives and people from different walks of life in attendance.
