Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Md. Abdur Rahim Khan appointed as the new administrator of FBCCI

The Ministry of Commerce has appointed Additional Secretary Md. Abdur Rahim Khan as the new administrator of The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI). An office order in this regard was issued by the Trade Organization-1 Branch of the Ministry of Commerce on Monday (October 27).

The office order said that the appointment has been made with the approval of the government in accordance with Section 17 of the Trade Organization Act, 2022. Earlier, former member and Additional Secretary of the Bangladesh Competition Commission (Retd.) Md. Hafizur Rahman served as the administrator of FBCCI from September 11, 2024 to September 10, 2025. He was relieved of that post at the end of his term.

The new administrator Md. Abdur Rahim Khan has been given the responsibility of smooth management of the organization and conducting elections. He will update the voter list, complete a fair and impartial election within the next 120 (one hundred and twenty) days, hand over the responsibility to the elected committee, and inform the Ministry of Commerce about this.
