Desk Report:
A meeting was held between Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Abdul Awal Mintoo and Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Bangladesh Hoe Yun Jeong at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday (March 30, 2026).
In this meeting, detailed discussions were held on determining the ideal framework of the Bangladesh Climate Development Partnership (BCDP) and determining possible strategies and methods for climate finance through it.
During the meeting, the Minister said that adaptation and mitigation related projects will be implemented to address the adverse effects of climate change through domestic and international funds. He expressed hope that BCDP will play an important role in this regard and sought ADB’s special cooperation in this regard.
ADB Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong said that the BCDP will be responsible for strengthening partnerships in mobilizing climate finance, accelerating policy reforms, building capacity to develop innovative climate projects, and facilitating knowledge exchange.
Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Md. Raihan Kawsar, and other senior officials of the ministry were present at the time.
