Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan is the new administrator of BASIS

Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, has joined the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) as the new administrator.

The newly appointed administrator assumed responsibility at the BASIS office on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) afternoon. Several members of BASIS and officials of the BASIS Secretariat were present at the time. The newly appointed administrator participated in a brief exchange of views at the BASIS boardroom. In the meeting, Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan sought the sincere cooperation of the officials of the BASIS Secretariat and all the members in carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him.

Earlier on Monday (September 8), he was appointed as the administrator of BASIS in an office order signed by the Director General (retd) of the Trade Organization-2 Branch of the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Rehan Uddin.

The order said that with the approval of the government, in accordance with Section 17 of the Trade Organization Act, 2022, for the smooth running of the organization, Mr. Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Joint Secretary, Local Government Division, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, has been appointed as the administrator of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).
