On the occasion of Happy Janmashtami, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman extended his heartfelt greetings and love to the Hindu citizens. He wished them continued well-being, prosperity and peace.
In the message, he said, “According to Hindus, Janmashtami is the birthday of Lord Vishnu’s eighth incarnation, Shri Krishna. Lord Shri Krishna was born on earth as an ordinary human being and freed the world from sins by killing the wicked. This festival has been celebrated with due dignity for ages. The festival binds people in the bond of unity, brotherhood and solidarity.”
He further mentioned, “The main message of all religions is to establish harmony, human welfare and peace. Lord Shri Krishna stood against injustice, lawlessness and misrule and established justice, truth and welfare. His teachings and works are still an inspiration for human society today.”
Highlighting the tradition of religious tolerance in Bangladeshi culture, Tarique Rahman said, “The people of this country have been living in a bond of mutual respect, harmony and brotherhood for ages. BNP is firmly committed to keeping that bond of harmony intact.”
He extended his warm greetings to all members of the Hindu community on this auspicious day of Janmashtami.
