Ministry of Home Affairs protests publication of ‘false news’ involving their names

A news item titled “Abdur Razzak bin Sulaiman (Riyadh), student representative of the Ministry of Home Affairs, arrested for extortion” was published on various television channels, online portals and social media today (July 27, 2025), which has come to the attention of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the news item is completely false, baseless and misleading. There is no student representative or representative of any kind of the Ministry of Home Affairs by the name of Abdur Razzak bin Sulaiman (Riyadh).

Protesting, the Ministry further stated that if anyone engages in any kind of criminal or anti-state activity using the name of the Ministry, the person concerned will have to bear the full responsibility. The Ministry of Home Affairs has no involvement in such activities.

The Ministry clarified that the current interim government firmly believes in the freedom of the press. However, at the same time, the ministry has called for responsible behavior towards the media and verification of information.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has requested the media to verify the authenticity of information and exercise caution before publishing news on such sensitive issues in the future.
