Chinese Embassy in Dhaka hands over COVID-19 testing kits to Bangladesh government

The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has provided COVID-19 testing kits on an emergency basis at the request of the Bangladesh government. The assistance was provided at the request of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (July 22, 2025), which is expected to reduce the pressure on various medical institutions in the country.

Chinese Embassy Counselor Li Shaopeng and Line Director of the Communicable Disease Control (CDC) of the Bangladesh government, Md. Halimur Rashid, were present at the event.

Counselor Li Shaopeng said, “This emergency assistance is an important part of China-Bangladesh health cooperation. China is willing to work with Bangladesh to build a ‘global health community for all’ and we hope that the people of both countries will benefit from this joint initiative.”

Bangladesh CDC Line Director Md. Expressing gratitude to the Chinese government, Halimur Rashid said, “China’s long-term support and friendship in Bangladesh’s health sector is commendable. This timely assistance once again proves that China is Bangladesh’s most reliable friend.”
