UNV delegation visits to strengthen role of volunteers in UNICEF mission in Bangladesh

A delegation from the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Headquarters and the Asia-Pacific Regional Office met with UNICEF Bangladesh partners in a joint meeting. The discussions focused on strengthening the effective role of volunteers and mutual cooperation in advancing UNICEF’s mission in Bangladesh.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the activities implemented by volunteers in sectors such as child protection, education, health and social inclusion and exchanged views on future work plans.

Later, the delegation visited Alo Clinic, an urban health center run by UNICEF. UN Volunteer Upma, who is currently working with UNICEF, is playing a key role in providing modern and inclusive health care.

Volunteers like Upma are providing health care to the underprivileged population of the city, as well as raising public awareness, using digital services and supporting children and women’s health.
