AASAB Holds Annual General Meeting to Celebrate Indigenous Scholars and Promote Inclusive Development

The Indigenous Australian Scholars Association of Bangladesh (AASAB) recently successfully concluded its annual general meeting (AGM). The main objective of the meeting was to recognize the achievements of Indigenous Bangladeshi alumni who have received Australia Awards and to bring together Indigenous voices for an inclusive development.

It is worth noting that over 250 Indigenous Bangladeshi scholars have received opportunities to pursue higher education in Australia under the Australia Awards program. Their breadth of knowledge and leadership skills are contributing to bringing about positive change in the development of Bangladesh.

The Deputy Head of Mission of the Australian High Commission, Mr. Clinton Pabke, was present at the event. He reiterated the Australian High Commission’s support for Indigenous scholars and alumni. He urged the alumni to stay connected with each other and to act as agents of change in their respective communities.

Mr. Supradeep Chakma, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, was present as the special guest in the meeting. In addition, the Rajas of Chakma and Mong Circles were present at the event, which made the meeting more significant.
