BNP delegation held a meeting with China’s Minister of International Affairs and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Affairs Department of the Communist Party of China, met with a high-level BNP delegation visiting Beijing.

The meeting, held at 11 am on Tuesday (June 24), was attended by Chinese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong and other central leaders of the Communist Party of China.

The meeting reiterated China’s expectation for organizing a free, fair and participatory election in Bangladesh. They said that China is interested in deepening mutual cooperative relations with whoever the future government of Bangladesh comes to power.

On the other hand, BNP requested China to continue its existing assistance in various sectors including agriculture, industry, garments, health and infrastructure development.

The meeting was led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and was attended by party standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Selima Rahman, chairperson’s advisor Ismail Zabihullah, Professor Sukamol Barua, Zahir Uddin Swapan and chairperson’s private secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.
