BIDA is adding 5 basic services for starting a business to their digital platform

To make the process of starting a business in Bangladesh easier, faster and more digital, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with six government agencies at the BIDA Conference Hall today, Sunday (25 May 2025). Through the implementation of the MoU, businessmen and investors will get five primary services required for starting a business—name clearance, company registration, trade license, TIN certificate and bank account opening—through a single application and a one-time fee from BIDA’s online one-stop service (OSS) portal.

Honorable Executive Chairman (State Minister) of BIDA and BEZA, Mr. Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun, was present as the chief guest at the event. BIDA Executive Member (Additional Secretary) Mr. Shah Mohammad Mahbub presided over the event. The participating organizations in the MoU are the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Directorate of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and Sonali Bank Limited.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Honorable Executive Chairman (State Minister) of BIDA and BEZA, Ashiq Chowdhury said, “In many countries of the world, businesses can be started within seven days. We also have such a dream. If the basic services for starting a business can be successfully implemented under the BIDA One Stop Service (OSS) platform, then it will be possible to create the reality of starting a business in a short time in Bangladesh as well. Although this is not possible overnight, it requires time and preparation step by step.

He further said, “We are currently working to add five essential services to the BIDA OSS platform for starting a business through a single application. Our goal is to launch these five services online by September. Other services will also be added to this platform in phases.”

At the same time, he further said that the country’s small and medium entrepreneurs will benefit the most if this service is launched. They will get the necessary licenses and approvals related to their business by filling a single form and will also be able to track the process online. This is undoubtedly a game-changer initiative, which will make the business environment easier, faster and digital through step-by-step implementation.

Speaking as the chairman of the event, BIDA Executive Member Shah Mohammad Mahbub said that this digital and integrated service system for starting a business based on the concept of One Process, One Fee will play an important role in making the country’s investment environment more effective and investment-friendly.

At the event, BIDA Director General Mr. Jiban Krishna Saha Roy gave a visual presentation on this integrated service delivery system based on “One Process, One Fee” and its potential benefits for the user businessmen and investors.

Senior officials of the concerned departments were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
