FBCCI’s Anti-Discrimination Reform Council welcomes Trade Organization Rules-2025

The FBCCI’s Anti-Discrimination Reform Council has welcomed the Trade Organization Rules-2025, formulated by the government with the aim of structural reforming the country’s trade organizations and establishing transparent leadership. According to the organization, the creation of such a timely policy after a long 31 years will be considered a historic step for the present and future generations of businessmen.

The leaders of the council made these remarks at a press conference organized at the Jahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the National Press Club on Thursday (May 22, 2025). Member Secretary Zakir Hossain presented a written statement at the event.

In his speech, he said that in the context of the mass movement, the current government has taken the initiative to make various important institutions of the country people-oriented. In continuation of this, in view of the long-standing demands of the business community, the Ministry of Commerce prepared a draft of the rules and took the opinions of the concerned. A written proposal was adopted after consulting with the members of the chambers and associations across the country, which was sent to the ministry through the FBCCI Administrator.

He further said that on May 20, 2025, the government published these rules in the form of a gazette, which is an important milestone for the business community. The Administrator is preparing to organize new elections of the FBCCI under these rules, which will pave the way for fulfilling the expectations of the country’s 35 million business people.

The leaders of the organization expressed the hope that real representatives of the business people will be elected in the upcoming elections, who will work with transparency and integrity in the interests of the business community.

Also present at the press conference were the convener of the Anti-Discrimination Reform Council, Zakir Hossain Nayan, advisors Abul Kashem Haider, Gias Uddin Chowdhury Khokon, members Belayet Hossain Bhuiyan, Anisur Rahman Badsha, Dr. Hasib Mahmud, Firoz Alam, Saeeda Akhtar, among others.
