The National Economic Council (NAC) on Sunday (May 18, 2025) approved the Annual Development Program (ADP) of Tk 2.30 trillion for the fiscal year 2025-26, with the highest allocation for the transport and communication sector.
The meeting held at the NEC Conference Room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital was presided over by NEC Chairperson and Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The concerned advisors were present in the meeting.
Out of the Tk 2.30 trillion ADP for the fiscal year 2025-26, Tk 1.44 trillion will come from the government’s own funds and Tk 86 trillion will come as project loans and grants.
However, if Tk 8,599.71 trillion is added from the own funds of the concerned agencies, the total ADP for the next fiscal year will stand at Tk 2,38,599.71 trillion.
Brieflying reporters after the meeting, Planning Advisor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud said that the approved ADP is part of the new budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, which will be announced by Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed on June 2.
The concerned secretaries and members of the Planning Commission were present in the meeting.
