Mr. Md Shameem Ahsan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, held a meeting with Mr. Novie Tajuddin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Education Malaysia Global Sevices (EMGS) on Monday (10 March 2025) at the Mission.

The High Commissioner thanked Malaysia for hosting a large number of Bangladeshi students who are making significant contributions to the development of both countries and peoples. He also referred to the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim to Dhaka at the invitation of Hon’ble Chief Asvisor H.E. Professor Muhammad Yunus, where they expressed their interest to strengthen cooperation in the field of education, among others.
During the meeting, the High Commission and the EMGS team discussed education collaboration between the two countries including under the MoU signed between EMGS and University Grants Commission, Bangladesh. They also discussed various issues involving Bangladeshi students in Malaysia, such as, access to scholarships, Graduate Pass and long-term multiple entry visas, especially for university students and researchers from Bangladesh. The EMGS Chief assured his office’s full support in expanding cooperation between Bangladesh and Malaysia in the field of education. After the meeting both sides exchanged souvenirs.

A good number of senior officials from EMGS were in attendance. Ms. Mosammat Shahanara Monica, Minister (Political), Mr. Md. Murshed Alam, Counsellor (Consular) and Ms. Rehana Parvin, First Secretary (Political) were present during the meeting.
