Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzoo has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on being elected as the 23rd President of Bangladesh. He termed the election as an important milestone in Bangladesh’s democratic journey.
In a congratulatory message, President Muizzoo extended his warmest greetings to the newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on behalf of the government and people of the Maldives.
In the message, he said that the first contested presidential election in 35 years is an important milestone in Bangladesh’s democratic journey. At the same time, it is also a reflection of the trust of the people of Bangladesh in the newly elected President.
The Maldivian President said that the long-standing relations between Bangladesh and the Maldives are based on strong historical bonds and a common commitment to regional stability and development.
He expressed hope that the depth and scope of cooperation between Bangladesh and Maldives will further increase under the leadership of President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. He also expressed his expectation that the relations between the people of the two countries will become closer in the coming days.
President Muizzu further expressed hope that during the term of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as President, Bangladesh will continue its journey towards lasting peace, progress and prosperity.
He wished the newly elected President good health, success and peace and prosperity to the people of Bangladesh.
