Ad-Din Medical College Hospital in Moghbazar, the capital, has regained its license on three conditions. This information was given in a notification signed by Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Monday (July 27, 2026).
The notification said that the hospital’s license was canceled in the death of six newborns. Later, when the hospital authorities appealed against the decision, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare formed an investigation committee to reinvestigate the matter.
On July 15, the investigation committee was ordered to visit the site and submit a report within three working days. The committee submitted a report after completing the on-site investigation. The government withdrew the order to cancel the hospital’s license as the report was considered satisfactory.
However, permission to resume the hospital’s activities has been given on three conditions. The conditions are—
All the provisions of the Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Regulation) Ordinance, 1982 must be strictly followed.
The required number of duty doctors and nurses must be appointed promptly as per the conditions of the license.
If any condition of the license is violated in the future, the government can take necessary action as per the prevailing law through the empowered authority.
Through this, Ad-Din Medical College Hospital received permission to resume operations subject to conditions.
