The Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Tarique Rahman, and the outgoing Chief of the Navy, Admiral M Nazmul Hasan, presented the Vice Admiral rank badge to the newly appointed Navy Chief Khondaker Misbah ul Azim, NBP, NPP, NDU, AFWC, PSC, MPhil, PhD.

After donning the rank badge, the Prime Minister sincerely congratulated the newly appointed Navy Chief. At this time, Vice Admiral Khondaker Misbah ul Azim expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of the Bangladesh Navy. He sought the Prime Minister’s valuable advice and guidance to develop the Navy as a more modern, capable and timely force.

The ceremony was attended by Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, Advisor, Ministry of Defense; Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, Chief of Air Staff; Lieutenant General Mohammad Shahinul Haque, Quartermaster General; Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman, Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division, along with senior military and civilian officials were present.

It was hoped that under the leadership of the newly appointed Navy Chief, the Bangladesh Navy would play a more effective role in modernizing, enhancing professional skills and ensuring maritime security. At the same time, it was hoped that the journey to form a modern, capable and professional Navy would be more dynamic under his leadership.
