The newly elected Board of Directors of the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) for the term 2026-2028 paid a courtesy call on the Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
The meeting, led by BMCCI President Anwar Shahid, exchanged views on the future strategy of the chamber, priority work plans and plans to celebrate BMCCI’s 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee).


During the meeting, the Malaysian High Commissioner sincerely congratulated the newly elected Board of Directors and wished the new leadership success. He expressed hope that the new board will play an effective role in further strengthening the long-standing economic partnership between Malaysia and Bangladesh.
At the same time, the High Commissioner also highly appreciated the leadership, dedication and significant contribution of the outgoing President of BMCCI, Shabbir A. Khan, and the development of the Chamber. He said that under the leadership of Shabbir A. Khan, BMCCI has been established as a strong platform for expanding trade, investment and business cooperation between Malaysia and Bangladesh.
The High Commissioner further said that under the new leadership, BMCCI will play a significant role in expanding bilateral trade and investment, strengthening business-to-business (B2B) contacts and building a more dynamic, stable and prosperous economic partnership between the two countries.
He reiterated the commitment of the Malaysian High Commission to work closely with BMCCI and expressed hope that the joint efforts will continue to enhance mutual economic growth and commercial cooperation.
