Desk Report:
The 1st meeting of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the 13th Parliament was adjourned on Monday (June 29, 2026) at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The meeting discussed the Narcotics Control (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Public Examinations (Offences) (Amendment) Bill, 2026 in detail. The meeting recommended that the bills be thoroughly scrutinized and reviewed and a report be submitted to the Parliament.
The meeting was chaired by the Committee Chairman Andaliv Rahman and was attended by the members of the committee and the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Md. Asaduzzaman, Muhammad Nowshad Zamir, Sakila Farzana, Md. Manjurul Islam, Md. Hasan Rajib Pradhan, Akhtar Hossain, Alfaruk Abdul Latif. Home Minister Salah Uddin Ahmed also participated in the meeting on special invitation.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, as well as senior officials of the relevant ministries and the National Parliament Secretariat.
