Business ties essential to deepen Bangladesh-Nepal relations: Nepalese Ambassador

A discussion titled ‘Nepal-Bangladesh Relations: Advancing Economic Cooperation’ was held in Rangpur at the initiative of the Nepalese Embassy.

Nepalese Ambassador Ghanashyam Bhandari spoke as the chief guest at the event. In his speech, he highlighted the vast potential of bilateral cooperation in various sectors including trade, transit, energy, communication, education and tourism. At the same time, he emphasized on increasing business contacts to build a strong economic partnership between the two countries. He also praised the role of the business community of Rangpur.

First Secretary of the Embassy, ​​Yojana Bamjan, presented at the event. She highlighted the progress of existing cooperation in the trade, transit and communication, energy and tourism sectors and mentioned the possibilities of further cooperation in the future.

An interactive session was held after the presentation, where participants discussed ways to further strengthen Nepal-Bangladesh economic relations.

Additionally, Rangpur Additional District Magistrate Christopher Himal Ritchil, Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Md. Ghulam Zakaria, Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Acting President Manjur Ahmed and Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Shahanaz Parvin Shahin also spoke at the event. They emphasized on further strengthening the ties between the business communities of the two countries.

Representatives of various Rangpur-based chambers of commerce and business organizations, top businessmen, travel and tour entrepreneurs and media personnel participated in the event.
