Bangladesh–Saudi Cooperation Emphasized, Interest in Launching New Flights

The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdullah Zafer H. Bin Abiyah, paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister and State Minister of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

The meeting was held at 11:30 AM on Sunday (April 12, 2026) at the minister’s office in the Bangladesh Secretariat. Present at the meeting were the Honorable Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Afroza Khanam, MP, and the State Minister, M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP.

During the discussion, both sides expressed optimism about further strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. Emphasis was placed on working jointly to develop Bangladesh’s tourism sector.

The Ambassador also expressed interest in launching operations and establishing a station in Bangladesh for Saudi Arabia’s new airline, Riyadh Air. The State Minister highlighted the importance of operating flights not only from Dhaka but also from Sylhet and Chattogram.

The Minister stressed the need to further improve the quality of services provided by Saudi airlines for Bangladeshi passengers. In response, the Ambassador assured that steps would be taken to enhance service standards promptly.
