The Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in India, Mumbai, celebrated the Independence and National Day with due dignity and enthusiasm today. At the beginning of the day, Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Mumbai, Farhana Ahmed Chowdhury, hoisted the national flag. The officials and staff of the mission were present at the time.
In a discussion organized to celebrate the day, the Deputy High Commissioner, in her speech, paid deep respect to all the brave martyrs and heroines who made the supreme sacrifice in the great liberation war and highlighted the context and significance of this historic day. He said, “In order to protect the dignity of the red-green flag earned through immense sacrifice, to keep the independence and sovereignty intact, and to ensure the continuous development of the country, everyone must be inspired by patriotism and dedicate themselves to building a discrimination-free, happy and prosperous new Bangladesh.” In addition, to celebrate the great independence and national day, various programs were held, including the reading of messages from the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs, a documentary film screening based on the Liberation War, and special prayers and supplications for the forgiveness of the martyrs of the Great Liberation War and world peace.
