The first meeting of the special committee formed by the Jatiya Sangsad was held on Tuesday (March 24, 2026) in the Cabinet Room of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban under the chairmanship of Committee President Zainul Abedin MP.
Committee members Home Minister Salauddin Ahmed MP, Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam MP, Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman MP, Dr. Muhammad Osman Faruq MP, A. M. Mahbub Uddin MP, State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari MP, Muhammad Nowshad Zamir MP, State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin MP, Md. Mujibur Rahman MP, Md. Rafiqul Islam Khan MP and G. M. Nazrul Islam MP were present.
At the beginning of the meeting, a minute of silence and prayers were held to pray for the souls of the students and people killed in the July 2024 mass uprising.

The committee decided to examine the necessity and appropriateness of the ordinances and submit a report to the National Parliament session as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by Kaniz Maula, Secretary of the National Parliament Secretariat, Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and other concerned officials.
