Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam (Rita), MP, and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat.
The meeting was held at the Minister’s Office at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday (March 11, 2026) at 2:30 pm.

During the meeting, both sides expressed optimism about further strengthening and elevating the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China to new heights. Emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially in the development of the tourism sector in Bangladesh.
At the time, Ambassador Yao Wen expressed his interest in increasing the frequency of flights from Bangladesh to Beijing and Guangzhou. The Minister and the State Minister assured maximum cooperation in this regard.
The ambassador also expressed China’s continued support for the current government’s tourism destination development programs, especially the initiative to upgrade Cox’s Bazar to an international standard tourism center. Both sides also expressed interest in Bangladesh and China working together under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, if necessary.
