State Minister for Textiles and Jute thanks Prime Minister for launching Family Card

State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md. Shariful Alam has thanked the Prime Minister for launching the Family Card program. He said that the Family Card is one of the promises in the election manifesto to benefit the marginalized and lower class. The Prime Minister has launched the Family Card facility in just 21 days of the government. Initially, 1,010 families from my own upazila Bhairab out of 14 upazilas have been taken under this program and they have already received the card money.

The State Minister said these things during an exchange of views at the inauguration of the Family Card distribution program in Shimulkandi, Bhairab Upazila, Kishoreganj on Tuesday (March 10, 2026).

The State Minister said that all the families in Bhairab who are considered eligible will be brought under the Family Card program in phases. Poor and low-income families will receive direct financial assistance and will play an important role in improving their standard of living.

At that time, among others, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aslam Mollah, Superintendent of Police Dr. SM Farhad Hossain and beneficiaries were present.

Incidentally, under the ‘Family Card’ program, beneficiaries will receive 2,500 taka per month in their mobile wallet or bank account as per their choice. In the first phase, 37,567 female-headed families have been selected to receive the allowance.
