Edible oil prices will not increase, there is no crisis, there is adequate supply in the market, said Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir.
He said that panic buying and excessive purchases may temporarily create supply pressure in some places, which can unnecessarily complicate the situation.
He told reporters after a meeting with importers and refinery owners to review the overall supply of edible oil at the conference room of the Ministry of Commerce at the Secretariat on Monday (March 9, 2026) afternoon.
